Man! wow! This really does have that divine feeling to it. The road from the corner leads my eye UP into the towering mountains above. Just the perfect composition. The dark toning and the contrast are so so perfect. The clouds are especially what I like. You can imagine how tall those rockformations (?) are with the town giving out the scale, but then the clouds over them just overwhelm them! and then it overwhelms my eyes next. Wow man! Ibang level ka na talaga! Congrats pare! If you ask me, this is magazine-spread material! seriously!

@Fred: thanks for the gratifying words, Fred. I'm really glad you liked it :)

Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, India

The title says it all Edwin !!! You have surpassed yourself with this awesome and stunning image !! Did you achieve the contrast and dark sky in post or is it filteration? Congratulations on this wonderful picture:)

30 Oct 2009 7:05am

@Pavan Kaul: the sky was deep blue that time. when I converted this to b&w, I used an orange filter to increase the contrast. red might be too much :) thanks for the kind words Pavan :)

@Jean-Luc: I'm not a god my friend :) thanks for the kind words, heartwarming really :)

k@ from Paris, France

Oh, you pushed the contrasts high but it works - very well !
Clouds try to become stronger/bigger than the mountains themselves, great brightful silent & peaceful fight ! :)

Ben from Lyon, France

It's amazing. How have you done to get such 3D effect? Is it HDR ?

30 Oct 2009 8:43am

@Ben: Thanks. nope, this is not HDR Ben. I think the orange filter used in b&w conversion was responsible for this increase in contrast :)

Albert from Hamburg, Germany

Wow! Very powerful sky! I love this heavy BW conversion.

I guess something to do with HDR ? No matter- an awesome anyway.

The name of this picture doesn't match 100%, do they (Gods) really live in b/w enviroment :) ? The different forms/elements like deep perspective, altitude, massive clouds and hilly terrain constract nicely the composition which is in good shape.

@lare: ha ha you're funny :)) my titles doesn't necessarily state a fact, nor does it mean anything. I was just imagining things, I thought gods must love this place. hence, they must have made this their playground. you don't have to agree nor disagree with me, you're free to think whatever you want. I know nothing, except the fact that I know nothing. I try as hard as I can to make things up :)
